Pierre Huyghe and Humanity in the Age of AI
The de Young MuseumIn October 2018 I covered the premiere of Pierre Huyghe’s UUmwelt︎︎︎ at Serpentine Galleries in London for The Brooklyn Rail. Shortly after, The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco invited me to write about Huyghe’s Exomind (Deep Water)︎︎︎, which The M. H. de Young Memorial Museum acquired for its landmark exhibition Uncanny Valley: Being Human in the Age of AI︎︎︎.
