I’m Will Fenstermaker

Writer, critic, curator, and journalist.

You can currently find me at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where I’m the editor of digital media, and The Brooklyn Rail, where I’m the associate editor of ArtSeen. My writing on art, photography, and technology has appeared in Artspace, The Brooklyn Rail, Two Coats of Paint, Surface, Momus, Hyperallergic, Degree Critical, Mashable, Digital Trends, and I previously worked as a photojournalist for Mashable.

I’m a graduate of the School of Visual Arts, where I received my MFA in art criticism & writing with a thesis on Thomas Ruff’s “Jpegs,” the internet as an archive, mass media imagery, and photography after 9/11. Before I was a writer, I was an investigator for the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia.
